Ade Robson | Masseur & Acupuncturist
Ade Robson has been working as a professional Sports & Remedial Masseur & Acupuncturist from his clinic in Dorking, Surrey since 2008. He also works in several other clinics both in Surrey and London.
In this short space of time he has built a strong reputation and following of dedicated clients who have come through his doors and benefited from a quality of touch, attention and presence developed through a focus and drive to get his clients back to health whether that was a client who needed just one focused session to those who have seen and felt the benefits of regular massage having had a series of treatments to balance their body through some imbalance causing tension, dysfunction and pain which led them to him in the first place.
He has developed an approach using different styles and techniques to encapsulate overall therapeutic effects regardless of the technique employed whether sports massage, Japanese acupressure, Thai Yoga massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture or moreover a fusion of these core bodywork principles.
He started his training back in 2002 but his desire to work in the healthcare industry goes back much further having met a few special people including his father who it seemed had 'healing' hands. Having being inspired and moved by what he saw he set off on a journey. That journey continues today and has seen him experience the very different worlds of sports massage, Craniosacral Biodynamics, Japanese acupressure, Thai Yoga massage, Traditional Chinese medicine incorporating acupuncture, Tuina, cupping & moxa therapies, all remedial massage aspects of treating the mind, body and spirit.
With his already natural draw and empathy to the human condition seeing first hand the stresses and strains we inflict on our bodies he felt moved to see what difference he could make on people's lives through the power of bodywork.
This type of work demands that you are present and he understands and aspires to the natural sensation and connection with the body. His therapy work becomes simpler and more effective as that connection with the body is deepened.
Like so many before him, Ade has discovered that bodywork is an art & science. How you put into practice what you've learned is the art. His approach is warm and friendly with a dedication and drive to ease, reduce and alleviate pain and discomfort for his clients who usually present with conditions brought on through injury, overuse, repetitive strain and poor habitual posture problems.
Ade also understands the therapeutic relationship with his clients and the importance of guiding them back to health with proactive measures such as stretching advice to support and make the necessary changes in their daily life; encouraging a healing process which can take time.
His reassuring presence, experience and honesty help guide his clients to understand the natural conflict that arises with many people coming to him with chronic, longstanding dysfunction and discomfort with high expectations of being 'cured' within a handful of treatments. This is the exception, not the rule. By and large, he manages to help his clients regain some sort of balance and this is reflected in the testimonials his clients have been happy to provide.
